ID30: Materials & Estimation

Course Duration: 15 Weeks
This course introduces students to measuring and estimation of common materials used in interior design projects. Students will learn to use formula sheets and other calculation methods for estimation of materials needed for furniture upholstery, window treatments, bed treatments, wall treatments and flooring. They will also learn about the physical attributes of these materials. Students will be introduced to units, conversion, and use of tools such as SketchUp to assist in material budgeting and the estimation process. Students will also learn how to compile different line items into entire project estimation and stay within project budget.
