ID002: Color Theory

Color Theory and its application are critical elements in the visual art of Interior Design. Students will gain a basic understanding of the physics and theory of color, as well as their impact on the overall design solution. Students will become familiar with the color wheel, psychological implications of applying color, as well as color themes used in various interior design settings. Students will participate in a hands-on color mixing project to learn about color blending, color matching, and how to achieve basic tints and shades. A basic understanding of the physics, theory, and application of color are critical building blocks for the confident use of color at every level of Interior Design. *Expectation of outside class work required.
