We are looking for a passionate, design & merchandising savvy hardworking individual to join our team in the Trolley Square retail showroom! We have full-time positions available. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet clients and establish their needs, partnering with the sales team on sales
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work environment
  • Learn Alice Lane sales process and systems
  • Assist with receiving product, opening freight, and organizing backstock and the stockroom
  • Build customer relationships
  • Style & merchandise the sales floor to create an exciting, inspiring, and a beautiful environment

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Merchandising and/or design experience is preferred
  • 2-3 years design experience
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and follow up ability
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Desire to create customer relationships
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays

This position is located at our showroom in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Professional Color Advisor

Job Duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Displays outstanding phone and email etiquette always 
  • Must be professional and have a positive attitude at all times 
  • Making a connection with customers and giving educated advice based on information gained from conversations with the customer 
  • Attends training classes and monthly store meetings to discuss matters of improving Color Advisor department operations 
  • Learn and utilize Dunn-Edwards sales aids such as: Specification Guide, Dunn-Edwards Perfect Palette Color System, computer renderings using Adobe Photoshop Software, Product Information Sheets, and Safety Data Sheets 
  • Must have the ability to understand different lighting sources and how they relate to change in color 
  • Develop product knowledge by utilizing corporate training tools, pamphlets and attending training classes to communicate effectively to the customer 
  • Must be in-view and readily available to assist customers on the sales floor 
  • Must be capable and willing of performing specifically assigned job duties at, or below current classification including: processing orders over telephone and in-person, operating cash register and carrying out paint to customer vehicle 
  • Consistently participates in maintaining store appearance 
  • Must be able to offer feedback to management regarding Color Advisor issues, customer service issues, and offer suggestions on training needs for store employees 
  • Responsible for keeping appointment schedules and logs pertaining to in-store consultations and must inform their direct manager or supervisor of all scheduled appointments and rendering responsibilities to ensure proper coverage 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player 
  • Ability to multi-task in a retail setting and meet deadlines when necessary 
  • Ability to legally drive own vehicle to assigned business units and various meetings and events

Administrative Design Assistant

Duties include:

  • Assisting lighting designers with client/project maintenance, project design, tracking report maintenance, plan & fixture schedule creation, and processing paperwork.
  • AutoCAD drafting
  • Additional duties include general administrative duties such as ordering supplies, printing large-scale plans, scheduling follow-up appointments, etc.
  • This administrative role requires work with all levels of the organization and collaboration across the client’s business units and outside vendors. Decision-making and independent thinking are required. The role requires an understanding of each department and the company’s goals and priorities.
  • Must have excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Have demonstrated the ability to organize/prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently. Performs well under pressure while multi-tasking adapts to changing priorities and meets narrow deadlines.
  • This role manages schedules and deadlines. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills and follow-through. Must have strong team player and leadership skills. This role also requires admin team leadership.

Skills Include:

  • Must possess strong customer service orientation and use judgment/discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work in an ever-changing environment with strong follow-through to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Able to quickly and accurately assess the importance of a B2B correspondence, email, or documentation and take appropriate action to involve the appropriate parties. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Design Associate to Design Consultant- Career Pathway

You will begin your journey with Arjay’s Window Fashions as a Design Associate, in daily contact with your manager/mentor/coach learning the disciplines required of a successful world-class Window Fashions Design Consultant.  You will do this by assisting your manager/mentor/coach with their projects, rotating through lead generation activities, and taking on various special projects as they arise.  For instance, updating sampling for designers, helping with event planning, coordinating team training, researching design specifications, preparing quotes, calling vendors for project assistance, etc.  As you do this, you will learn the technical details of our product lines reinforced by practical in-home design consultation experiences that ensure you know how to apply what you are learning correctly into a design choice.  You will love seeing the before and after effects as your projects come to life and delight your clients.
