Glass Houses

Philip Johnson created a lasting architecture style when he built his famous Glass House in 1949. Part of the Modern Movement, it was ahead of its time and still upholds its modern allure today, when glass houses are a thing of the present, as well as the past. Walls of windows open up the home to nature and its surroundings, creating an intimate relationship with the world around the space. It’s a daring architectural move, but one that exudes confidence and beauty in the most all-encompassing way.

  1. This glass house may be small in size, but it is monstrous in its appeal. I love how all its elements, especially its interior colours, come together to create an illusion of space. How it was built and designed to connect to the world outside, whether it is night or day, is also astounding in itself. I would love to live in a home like this someday.
